LOUGHBOROUGH ENSHIN KAI Osu! Quarterly Newsletter – January 2009 A Happy New Year to all members and friends of Loughborough Enshin Kai! Congratulations to all members who successfully tested in December. I hope this encourages you to set new goals and continue your progress. Congratulations as well to Debbie Barber, who the Instructors feel has shown real effort and improvement in the last twelve months. A worthy winner of the spirit prize! Over the next few weeks we will be updating the website – please check back regularly to see the new parts, who knows you may be in the pictures! We need to get started soon on advertising and promoting Kancho’s course – provisionally booked for June 6th. This year I need to get names from all those interested by no later than early April, along with numbers attending from other styles. As usual, we need a certain break-even number to make asking Kancho over economically feasible, so please support this annual event. There is a chance the date may be changed due to the Polish Sabaki challenge – details to be confirmed asap. Test dates for 2009 Thursday 30th April Thursday 27th August Thursday 17th December In all cases applications must be submitted one month beforehand so progress can be assessed. We found last year that it is virtually impossible to find a date that suits everyone, so please make every effort to keep these dates free. Finally, my very best wishes to Matt and Rowena on their engagement! Osu! GJEC
